Get a Jumpstart on your Summer Projects!

Spring has arrived in Central Oregon! While that may still look like cold days and the occasional snow flurry, those who have lived here for a long time know that summer will be here before we know it. It’s a great time to start thinking about any projects you want to get started on before the warm weather hits, especially if you’re looking to hire contractors for anything on your list.

Spring marks the start of our busiest season, though we’ve been working on projects all year long. One addition that has become increasingly popular, especially in Central Oregon, is the ADU. Accessory Dwelling Units are additional living spaces, typically detached from the primary home, that many people are choosing to list as short-term rentals. Homeowners are taking advantage of the influx of tourism that Bend sees during the summer months, and have been able to maximize their properties to earn some additional income as guests rent their spaces.

ADU’s can also be used as art studios, music rooms, or suites for family members who might be staying long-term. Since 2020, the home office has become something we’ve seen a new demand for among remote workers in Bend. An ADU is a great option for an office as it provides privacy from the goings-on at home, room for a desk that you might not have in the main house, and a distinct separation from your personal and professional life.

Bend has been growing steadily for a long time, and in the past few years, the rate at which it’s been happening seems to have gone up exponentially. Our unique housing market has led to many home purchases over the last 2 years specifically, leaving these new homeowners a long list of updates for their new properties. Whether the home is set to be a rental or someone’s forever home, updates are a huge need in our community right now.

Many people choose to do many of these upgrades themselves, but spaces like your kitchen and bathroom bring a new level of complexity to the average DIY-er. We work on these projects all the time be it cabinet installation, appliances, showers, or flooring. Typical home maintenance is a big one to consider as well. This is true for those who just bought a home or those who have been in the same one for a long time. A new roof, exterior paint, or a new driveway might be things to consider during your spring planning.

The list goes on when it comes to what we’re able to offer our clients. Whether it’s ADA renovations, fencing, decks, porches, stairs, or handrails - we’re ready to help you with whatever you’re looking to accomplish. Also, know that no job is too large or too small for Total Home Solutions.

Our team has multiple decades of knowledge and hands-on experience that we put to work to help make your dreams a reality. We also make the relationships we build with our clients a top priority. It’s important to know and trust the people working in your home and we make sure the experience is positive for everyone. We hope that at the end of your project, you’ll be excited to reconnect with the people who helped you get it done when you’re ready to start the next one.
